RECOMMENDATIONS:

The SIM4PLAN prototype is designed to perform simulations in municipalities with significant urban development. Therefore, it is recommended to select one or more municipalities included within the boundaries of the Spanish Functional Urban Areas (as indicated on the map). Otherwise, and especially if rural municipalities are selected, the results may not show significant differences between the simulated future scenarios.

The simulations performed with the SIM4PLAN prototype can include one or multiple municipalities. However, given the characteristics of the developed simulation tool, it is recommended that, if selecting more than one municipality, they be adjacent (neighboring, contiguous) and belong to the same Functional Urban Area. This way, residential and industrial urban uses, as well as transportation infrastructure in one municipality, can influence those of the selected adjacent municipalities, allowing the selected area to be considered as a whole and generating integrated simulations for all municipalities.
